Beautiful Walk in the Valley – Fresh!

The air was fresh,  and the sun was showing itself after four or more days of solid dreariness. After sighing a big sigh and hitting the couch for a couple of days reading some good books, I was ready to deal with the outdoors. it was great to get out and the first time I put the extra layers on for the -15 celsius or -5 fahrenhiet temperatures. It was touch and go with my car, at first  I couldn’t get in because there was rain then snow and the doors were iced up. I crawled in through the trunk then pushed one door open from inside. At first it  didn’t start but plugged in the blog heater and tried again after a couple of hours. Voila! It worked.

It was awkward handling the camera with my thick gloves; trudging through the snow was not bad because the trails were cleared except for the weight of the boots. It was beautiful to see the trees full of snow and some still had a hint of fall colours. i liked the image of the Edmonton Queen in the partially  frozen river -she is not going anywhere for a while.

The ice crystals inspired me to zoom in for a close-up of the tree branches.

and just liked how it looked after a real snowfall.

Hi Jane beautiful winter pictures, but had to chuckle picturing you crawling into your car through the trunk!
