It is Inevitable-the first Snow

We didn’t get as much as estimated, but it was still a bit of a chore scraping and brushing off the car as the precipitation started as rain, then turned to snow.  The effect was like that of hoarfrost, but upon a closer look, there was a layer of ice on the trees with a topping of snow. It was not a matter of just brushing the powdery snow off the car, it was STUCK on. I was glad that I covered the front wind shield with a sun cover for I could simply peel it off. Still , it made for pretty snow scenes and a visit to friends for conversation and coffee warmed things up.

  1. It seems inevitable that snow and winter will follow fall…I am truly never ready. Your winter snow pictures are gorgeous.

    • Thanks for commenting, Charlie. I have six months to get used to it.

  2. Six months of winter, is that what you say? That is a long season… Anyway I like winter, if not for that long – and I like your gorgeous winter picture. I think it’s fun with the snow covering the still green foliage.

    • Yes, I like the effect of snow mixed with the foliage.and yes, jif it stays, it won’t go until April. You should see what it looks like today! after melting it has come back, and it looks like it is here to stay.

  3. We got just a dusting, but it used to be like what you are getting. In the last six years we have gotten less and less. It is going to be 64° degrees tomorrow here, more Spring-like weather than Fall.
