I haven’t looked at all the photos I took last night yet, but I think I’ll be lucky to get one this good. Where were you, on Groat road?

Hi Steve, I was on top of the hill above Victoria Park golf course, so not far from Groat Road.Glad you like, hope you post yours.

We were just below Ezio Farone park, so a bit closer. I got a few okay shots but the framing didn’t quite work out how I planned so I had to do a lot of cropping. I’ll probably post a few though.

I was checking out your work on your site, very impressive. That is great at Ezio Farone park but how was the smoke? I think I used a wider lens and cropped a lot last year-this year with the bigger bursts it did not fit into the frame. It was fun and I sure enjoyed seeing all the people from the neighbourhood sitting in their lawn chairs on the hills.

Thanks. The smoke actually wasn’t bad, it was drifting south-west for the most part. If we go again next time I will find a spot a little farther away with a better line of sight like yours. I’ll have a post up with the best of the pics tomorrow.

Just one more note on viewpoints.A friend of mine took a great photo from Walterdale bridge of the bridge lights- shows the reflections on the surface of the water
