Musings on photographing the Alberta landscape.
I didn’t venture out today except onto my balcony for some quick bird shots (too darn cold). AND because of your ongoing snow series, I got to seriously looking at the snow drifts & sculptures forming on the ground from the winds that were blowing our 3-4 inches of last night snow (wow, 3-4″ sounds pathetic to your snow! LOL) with my ‘camera eye’. So I began taking photos from three floors high with my telephoto lens to see what I’d come up with. Haven’t downloaded them yet, but I’m curious if any turned out good. Thanks for the inspiration, Jane!

I think I like #4 better than this one, but it still is an interesting study. We have been getting drifts of snow too, but having to shovel it from the driveway, I see less beauty in it.

I am with you on #4. Your statement reminds me of a cartoon I read where the husband sees the snow as beautiful, likes the quiet and is lovey-dovey with his wife. After each snowfall and the subsequent shovelling, he is less grateful. After several snows his attitude has deteriorated until he hates shovelling, is complaining about everything, and is ready to divorce his wife. I appreciate what you are saying, it is much damper where you are and the snow is very heavy.

Oh I like the snow, but the drifts this week are wearing on me. I drive a Jeep and decided to just drive through this last batch.
